God wants to have a close relationship with you. In fact God's Word, the Bible, shows you how this is possible: - You must admit that you have sinned, that you have not met God's standard for right living. (Romans 3:23)
- You must understand that the result of your sin is spiritual death, that is separation from God in this life and judgment in the next. (Romans 6:23)
- You must recognize that because God loves you He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross and to rise from the dead to pay the penalty for your sin. (Romans 5:8)
- You must personally receive Jesus Christ by faith, trusting Him alone to forgive your sins and to give you eternal life. Simply ask Him in prayer to be your personal Savior and then thank Him for doing it.
(John 1:12; Romans 10:9,10) Can you think of any good reason why you wouldn't trust Jesus right now? Maybe you would like to tell God that you want to trust in Jesus. Remember: It is not a prayer that saves you. It is trusting Jesus Christ that saves you. Prayer is simply how you tell God what you are doing. If you have believed on Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are now a Christian. (John 6:47) Be sure each day to spend some time reading God's Word and praying to Him. That's how your relationship with God will grow stronger. Find a church where God's Word is believed and taught and begin attending regularly.
