We believe that God has given us propositional revelation, truth in the form of words and statements. Our doctrine is a distillation of truth found in the Bible.
Below is a condensed form of our full doctrinal statement. Our complete doctrinal statement is available from a link at the top of this page. For each subject below, our complete doctrinal statement includes the Bible references that provide the evidence for, and the basis of, our beliefs.
We believe that “all Scripture is inspired by God,” every word of the Scriptures in its entirety and is without error in the original manuscripts. We believe that the Bible is the divinely authoritative Word of God and the standard for every age and for every life.
We believe that man is directly created in the image of God, but that by Adam’s disobedience all men are born into sin and therefore liable to eternal punishment.
We believe in one God who is Creator and Sustainer of all things, existing eternally in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and is loving and just in all His relations.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
We believe that God the Holy Spirit unites every believer to Christ at the moment of salvation and that He permanently indwells every believer. The Holy Spirit also instructs the believer in godly living, empowers the believer to victorious, fruitful Christian living, and equips the believer for witness and service.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God and is received by man through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. We believe that man is justified by grace through faith apart from works.
We believe the church is composed of all true believers and that the Lord Jesus is the only Head of His church. We believe the local church is an assembly of believers in Jesus Christ who are voluntarily joined together in one locality for the purpose of exalting Jesus Christ. The local church is under the direct authority of Jesus Christ, through His Word. Elders are raised up by the Chief Shepherd and the Holy Spirit to shepherd God’s people.
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe that believers live in the world under the mandate of the Great Commission which calls us to bear witness to the Lord Jesus Christ and make disciples locally and in throughout the world.
We believe that Scripture puts forth two ordinances for the New Testament church: communion or the Lord’s Supper and believer’s baptism.
